Summary

Cakoe is designed to keep your vehicle comparison data on your device. The app does not collect personal data, does not track you, and does not sell or share your data with third parties. The app offers optional in-app purchases for virtual coins used to unlock premium features; these transactions are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store and we do not have access to your payment information.

Information You Enter

You may enter vehicle details (year, make, model, trim, asking price, mileage, dimensions, fuel type, range, fuel economy, seller information, warranty and inspection status, listing URLs, and notes), buyer profile preferences (budget ceiling, garage dimensions, entrance width, clearance preset, required seats, cargo priority, commute distance, fuel preference, and purchase deadline), evidence records (screenshots, photos, URLs, seller messages, inspection notes, quotes), and visit task checklists. All of this information is stored locally on your device in a SQLite database within the app's private storage.

Photos and Camera Access

The app requests access to your device camera and photo gallery when you choose to add a vehicle photo or attach evidence (such as a screenshot of a listing, a photo of an inspection report, or a damage photo). Images you select or capture are stored locally on your device within the app's document directory. The app does not upload images to any server or third-party service.

Microphone and Speech Recognition

The app requests access to your device microphone and Apple's on-device speech recognition service when you use the speech-to-text feature to dictate notes (such as vehicle notes, inspection observations, or evidence descriptions). Audio is processed locally through Apple's Speech framework and is not transmitted to our servers. We do not store, record, or retain any audio data. Please refer to Apple's privacy documentation for details on how Apple handles speech recognition data on your device.

In-App Purchases and Virtual Coins

Cakoe offers a virtual coin system. You receive an initial balance of coins upon first use. Certain features (such as adding a new vehicle) consume coins. You may purchase additional coins through in-app purchases via the Apple App Store. All payment processing is handled entirely by Apple — we do not collect, store, or have access to your credit card number, billing address, or any other payment information. Your coin balance is stored locally on your device. Purchase records and transaction receipts are managed by Apple in accordance with their privacy policies.

Sharing

The app includes a "Share Brief" feature that generates a plain-text summary of your test-drive shortlist (vehicle names, rankings, scores, and risk flags). When you tap share, the summary is handed to the operating system's share sheet. The app only provides the text you choose to share — it does not send data anywhere on its own.

Network Requests

Cakoe operates primarily offline. All data processing, scoring, ranking, gate checks, and guide content function entirely on your device without network access. The only network communication occurs when you initiate an in-app purchase — the App communicates with Apple's App Store servers to process the transaction. The listing URLs you enter are stored as text references only — the app does not fetch or load those web pages.

Analytics and Tracking

The app does not include advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, crash reporting services, or cross-app tracking of any kind.

Data Storage

All data is stored locally on your device. Vehicle data, buyer profiles, evidence records, and visit tasks are stored in a local SQLite database file (cakoe.db) within the app's documents directory. Your coin balance is stored locally using device preferences. No data is transmitted to or stored on external servers. You maintain full control over your data at all times.

Data Deletion

You can remove individual vehicles, evidence records, and visit tasks within the app. You can also reset your buyer profile through the onboarding flow. Removing the app from your device removes all of its local data, including the database file and any stored images.

Third-Party Services

Cakoe integrates with Apple's StoreKit framework solely for processing in-app purchases. No user data is shared with any other third-party services, cloud storage, user account systems, or remote APIs beyond what Apple requires to complete a purchase transaction. The app does not require an internet connection to function except when making purchases.

Children's Privacy

Cakoe does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13. The app stores all data locally and does not transmit any data externally.

Changes to This Policy

If we update this Privacy Policy, the revised version will be posted here with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
